Animal Control

Batesville's Animal Control Facility is located at 255 W. College Street. Our Animal Control Officer, LaRoss Nelson, or Assistant Animal Control Officer Christina Brogdon would love to show you around our facility and assist you in adopting an animal.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. In case of an emergency, please call 911.

We are very proud of our animal control facility. At any given time, we have several dogs and cats for adoption. Animals available for adoption can be found here.

Batesville has an animal control ordinance that requires all animals within the city limits to be licensed by the city. We have new, upgraded pet tags with QR codes on the back. If your pet were to get loose, anyone with a smartphone could scan the code and access the pet owner's information provided by the owner. Scanning the QR code could help lost pets return home quicker. The ordinance also prohibits animals from running at large. For more information on pet adoption or the city's animal control ordinance, call our office.
